Who we are
Currents Dance Theatre was founded to increase opportunities for professional dancers in West Michigan and bring contemporary dance to the arts community in Grand Rapids.
We are currently in our inaugural season and are keeping busy creating repertory, hosting open classes, and performing around the state.
Our Mission
Currents strives to inspire and empower dancers to grow their artistic voice, integrate our local community into the art of dance, and create innovative, engaging choreography.
As we grow, we plan to host annual performances, create a program for youth interested in pursuing careers in dance, and bring in guest choreographers from across the country.
